Zoo Aquarium de Madrid

I had a very animal-filled weekend last weekend as I visited both the Acuario de Sevilla and the Zoo Aquarium de Madrid. The last time I visited Madrid’s Zoo was when I was about 11 or 12 and I still remember parts of it.

The Zoo Aquarium is located to the west of Madrid’s center and is a very simple walk from the Casa de Campo metro stop. The map of all the animals is almost daunting because there are so many to be seen, but we found we were able to see everything in about two hours. It depends on how fast you walk through, if you stop for photo sessions with certain species, and if you take time to watch the exhibitions or shows that occur every half hour.

Martine and I had a blast exploring the zoo and aquarium and I’m already excited to return!

Immediately upon entering the zoo, you can get up close and personal with flamingos! DSCN2814 DSCN2815 DSCN2829 DSCN2847 DSCN2861 DSCN2883 DSCN2924 DSCN2807 DSCN2891 DSCN2823 DSCN2927 DSCN2940 DSCN2947 DSCN2955 DSCN2970 DSCN2988

If you ever have the opportunity to visit the zoo, I would highly recommend buying your tickets online and downloading the Parques Reunidos app to access your tickets via phone. Doing this saves time, as you can enter through a shorter line and your screen is simply scanned. 🙂
